My name is Tom and I am pleased to introduce you to my latest online project: Parkington Park: A Webcomic. This is my first attempt at putting together a humorous webcomic, and you’ll probably notice the art style right away. Parkington Park is what’s known as a cut and paste comic and almost all the art is comprised of 19th century wood images that I’ve collected from various out-of-copyright publications.
There are a few specific reasons I’m starting a webcomic, but those reasons aren’t as interesting as what I hope to accomplish with this site and comic:
First, I want to amuse you, the reader, just as much as I want to amuse myself. The world needs more simple amusements.
Second, I want to share with you some of the trials and tribulations I run up against as I start this comic. I know that a lot of people love the idea of starting a comic on their own, and I figured I’d help out where I could. I do not expect to get rich or famous from a webcomic, but I do hope I can grow its readership of 0 and maybe have some fun with it.
Things are still pretty bare, but I’m working to flesh them out a little bit. I am going to publish the comic on a weekly basis for now, though I’m hoping I can eventually work up to a more frequent schedule.
If you like the comic, please share it with your friends. If you hate the comic, please share it with your friends! I’m not picky.
